The variety of applications of the MicroGator
Case of application where the adapter that can be mounted on the MicroGator electric cutting robot was used to deploy packers to install stainless steel sleeves.
Challenge
On a large-scale industrial estate in Rhineland-Palatinate, KSM Umweltdienste GmbH & Co. KG (KSM) is cleaning, inspecting and rehabilitating the approximately 55 km long sewer system to ensure trouble-free operation. In some sewers with diameters from DN 250 to DN 700, there are connections that are no longer needed. These are to be sealed off purely mechanically with stainless steel sleeves with rubber seals. This is to be followed by an inspection to document the results of the work.
Solution
With the MicroGator, packers for installing liner sleeves were steered in a controlled manner in the sewer. The packer was attached to the MicroGator via an air-ducting coupling rod.
Under observation by the CutterCam pan-head colour camera, the packer with the sleeve was positioned exactly at the respective areas to be sealed. The ORION camera was operated on the MicroGator using an inspection camera adapter. The cutting robot and the inspection camera were operated with the same controls in the rehabilitation vehicle.
