The first sod has been turned for IBAK’s additional premises in Schönkirchen
New additional company premises are to be built in Schönkirchen, not far from IBAK’s headquarters in Kiel by August 2024. The first sod for this building project was turned today in the presence of IBAK’s managing directors Daniel and Dorian Hunger and the IBAK senior executives Karsten Bauer and Janina Galinski. Also present at the symbolical start of construction were Schönkirchen’s deputy mayoress Anka Velfe and Pascal Schwarz, branch manager of GOLDBECK Nord GmbH, the company that has been commissioned with the building work.
The new premises are being constructed on a site of 14,167 m² in the street Krummland, Nos 8 bis 12. The building will have a floor space of 4.895 m² and will be comprised of a two-storey office structure of 680 m² and a hall of 4,215 m². Building is scheduled for completion in August 2024.
Besides the software engineering, raw material store, precision mechanics and quality assurance departments, the entire production is also to move to the new hall. The outstanding product quality of the IBAK systems results, among other things, from the high vertical range of manufacture. All components are designed, manufactured, assembled and tested on the IBAK premises. For this purpose, the family-owned company has a total of 26 CNC machining centres that reliably and safely produce parts for the manufacture of high-quality camera systems and rehabilitation robots. With the new building, IBAK will double its present production area.
‘The start of construction marks a further milestone in our story of success. With the new company building, we ensure that we will be able to fulfil our space requirements as a continuously growing company,’ said Dorian Hunger.’The investment of 10 million euros underlines our great confidence in the future and fortifies our efforts to continuously improve and to remain a successful forward-looking company,’ Daniel Hunger affirmed.
